POPS AND SCOTT I LOVE THIS BOAT!!!

I had a great fishing day with my friends from seattle: shawn, pops, scott, and aaron....
I was a little concern because i hadn't gone fishing for a long time, so I didn't have any idea of where i was gonna go but i worked my magic and a great day.

On top of everything we were having a hard time catching the bait, so by the time shawn and everyone showed up - my deckhand and i had a plan. We headed to spot were we usually find bait and of course we found it and from then on it was...game on!! Pops caught our first catch - a huge needlefish so that was a release. After that i decided to go out to the open sea for something bigger. We made a run 15 miles out where we started up trolling with the live bait. Pops never stoped saying...I LOVE THIS BOAT before we even caught anythin! exciting but 15 to minutes after shawn goes something is hitting my bait and bang!...there it was a beautiful 140 pounds 7 feet long sailfish that took shawn 40 minutes get him on the boat thanks to the help of my uncle we were able to bring it in...i never have seen a person so excited before i have to say that shawn did a great job reeling in because he was sweating his butt off....hahaha!!!...I LOVE THIS BOAT....pops is a great dude...so after we trolled for a for an other 40 minutes i decided to head to shore for a rooster fish or jack to keep this guys working but they were already super stoked on shawn catch...so we got to shore troll for 15 minutes and scott hook a really nice roosterfish but aaron had already lost a bigger one..it was so hot out and I was a little nervous because we couldn't fit the sailfish in the cooler so we had to come in before the sun cook it...so we got to the beach and i clean the fish and made up a plan to meet at my parents restaurant a for a delicious dinner cook by pinche filipine guy matteo...hes my mom's worker great chef...i have to say that i had a great time with the Hammons brother and that i can't wait to see them...thanks for your great business guy...I LOVE THIS GUYS!!!...HAHA!!!

Fishing with Scott and Stephanie from S.F.

Went out fishing a few days ago with some great friends, Scott and Stephanie from San Francisco.  We left at 7:30am and the morning started out a bit slow, but we were soon hooking Dorados and a big Rooster Fish.  The weather was hot, the seas calm, and the water warm - it was a fun day!

the boat

This is the boat, my friends.

I will post more pictures soon.

dorado and some of the amazing snorkeling you can experience

On February 27th, we went on a snorkeling and fishing trip with my partner, Esteban Cardenas and his really good friend, Hans and some other people, who I can't really remember their names!  We started out pretty slow, catching a couple dorados but the guys seemed more into snorkeling than fishing so we headed over to the marietas islands.   We made some of the best ceviche, with the best fish you can possibly have and by the time we finished the ceviche, it was time to head home. So that an other amazing day on Mahi.....

Cory's Birthday

Happy Birthday Cory!  I took out two couples, from Canada and had a great day.  Helen and Cory were from Invermere, Canada and were down to celebrate their honeymoon and Cory's birthday.  The other couple were Bob and Caroline from Vancouver and were down in Sayulita vacationing.
We caught 5 big Dorados for Cory's birthday.  2 of them were an easy 40lbs.  Cory and Caroline were the lucky ones because they reeled in the two biggest fish of the day.  Congratulations guys!  See you next time.

Sailfish Caught with Terrie & Friends from Colorado

It was a pretty rough day out in Pacific today.  Bumpy, windy - just rough all around.  We went straight out from Sayulita and we caught one Dorado within 20 minutes.  Unfortunately, one of the girls started to get pretty seasick, so we started trolling for 30 minutes to help calm her stomach.  And then..BAM...we hooked this beautiful 130lbs, 6'2"ft long Sailfish!!  It took us about an hour to reel it in and gaff it.

I don't know if everyone knows this, but with Sailfish, the only way you can bring it into the boat is by gaffing it in the eye or grabbing the nose with gloves.  If you try and gaff it in the body, you'll just end up ripping the meat out, so it's little trick of the trade and takes some talent to gaff the Sailfish right in the eye as it's thrashing against the boat.

We decided to call it a day after our big catch and having one seasick girl on the boat.

Still, another good day of fishing in Sayulita!

rooster fish caught with william and family plus my girlfriend, erika

We went out fishing with my friend William and his two children from the Bay Area.  The morning started out a little slow because we were having a hard time catching our live bait.  But it soon picked up, when we saw a big school of Rooster fish feeding around a bank.  We had one hooked, but lost it and finally caught our big catch of the day.  It took about 35 minutes to reel it in.  Not too bad for a days work in Sayulita, Nayarit.
